By blacklisting a word in Tumblr Savior, you're significantly less likely to see posts with that word in them. There are a couple of things to keep in mind when using Tumblr Savior: Tumblr Savior may take a few seconds to start when opening a new tab or Tumblr page, meaning that you may briefly see content that should be blacklisted. Tumblr Savior isn't perfect, so some content will occasionally sneak through. As of March , Tumblr Savior is the only Tumblr blacklist available.
Open a supported browser. Open the Tumblr Savior website. This will take you to a Tumblr page with download links for different browsers. Click your browser's download link. You'll see several links in the middle of the page that say Tumblr Savior For [Browser] ; click the one with your browser listed. Install the extension in your browser. Chrome will refresh the page when the installation completes.
Firefox - Click Add to Firefox , then click Add when prompted. Firefox will notify you when the installation is complete. If you block one of your followers, the block feature works as normal, but the person you blocked is far more likely to notice it. Once you block a blog, you will never see posts from that blog on your dashboard again. This includes tag pages, search results, note pop-ups and any kind of notification, such as the one you get when somebody reblogs from you.
If somebody else reblogs a post from somebody you've blocked, however, you will still see that post -- both on your dashboard, if the person is somebody you followed, and in tag pages and search results.
If you want an advanced way to block tags, you can use the Tumblr Savior Chrome plugin. This plugin not only comes with a blacklist but it also has a whitelist. This allows you to block certain tags and also always show posts with specific tags.
It also features many other useful tools and functions, such as removing Google Analytics trackers, get notifications whenever a post matching a blacklisted tag is blocked, hide Tumblr source attribution, and more.
Remember that these filtered tags apply to your entire Tumblr account. Click the "Save" button to filter the posts and then close the settings window. You can display any of the posts by clicking the "Click to show" link. Nick Peers has been writing technology-related articles since
